Ok look, I want to share with you about the #Blogclub sessions we are running here @workhubs.
It is our latest trick for the one of London’s longest running Meet Up’s: London Bloggers Meet Up.
It all started in a Galaxy far far away when I was scouring the web to find out more about blogging; I was obsessed with being a blogger and read EVERYTHING.
I bought the ProBlogger book 31 Days to a Better Blog and have only got about half-way through.
I mean how hard can it be?
Do one action daily and at the end of the month, you have a better blog.
I know it can work, but when I am on a mission like this, I do better with a group of people to chat with about it. I value other people’s different perspectives and interpretations of something.
Small and deep steps every week.
A few months ago we started doing a Blog Club every week here @WorkHubs, and seven weeks ago I shot an email to Darren Rowse at Problogger and asked if it would be ok to build a meet up around the 31 Days to a Better Blog book. The Problogger guys did all the work to put it together, and I certainly needed their blessing before setting this up.
Darren said yes and we were off.
I shot a HUGE task to Fancy Hands and they set up 40 meet ups here on London Bloggers Meet Up. To make it more useful, and to keep us on our toes we added the Podcast and a few links of interest for each session. This enables you to listen to the podcast before you come to the session and will save you time searching for more blogs about blogging.
Just to be clear you don’t have to come after listening to the podcast and reading the blogs, it is not homework! Just Come!

I find it hard to get my head around new concepts and have a huge fear of writing and publishing. It has taken me years to understand Mailchimp, WordPress and everything in between. When I joined London Bloggers Meet Up in 2009 it was the best place I had ever been to learn about how to use the web and blog. Many people were very generous and patient – holding my hand and explaining the very basics of where to start.
Start Before You Are Ready
Early on at our meetups, we had a joke about reading blogs about blogging.
If you are like me, learning about blogging is like never leaving an all you can eat buffet.
One day I thought “I just CAN’T read anything else!” I needed to take action, and that is another reason for making this weekly meet-up.
When I say take action, I don’t mean in a ‘Navy Seals’ kind of way. I mean in an inspiring kind of way. Sitting around a table with a small group of people working on your blog and being focused on one task is already helping bloggers like you build a firm foundation.
The Write Club
A few years ago a group of us started a writing group where we’d meet every week for two hours and ONLY write. Our confidence, learning and productivity continue to go up.
As we got to know each other better and built trust, we were able to share ideas and help each other overcome the inevitable blocks and challenges that popped up when creating something.
This is the how I think Weekly Blog Club could work for you.
What Does This Cost?
Your time! The only thing we ask is that you make an effort and post something to the #BlogClub Medium Group about the tasks you have worked on or something you published as a result of doing a task.
This is to encourage other people to take action. Also, the greatest proof you are really working on improving your blogging is to publish.
Don’t get lost in setting up a website! Get into action and post a blog!

Do I Have to Buy the Book?
No, you can come to the session and still take part and learn.
I have bought the book twice, and I recommend you get the current edition.
You can get it with a 50% discount by using the code on the ProBlogger Podcast page here.
You certainly don’t need to come to every meetup. Come to the ones that you need help with or think you can contribute to the most.
Please book ahead. This always encourages other people to take part.
