If last week was goal mania, then this week is blog mania, both Write Club and Blog Club are full of energy.
Book in for how to write a blog post here!
Soon you’ll be able to create content that works better in search engines.
See what people said about the Meet Up here.
Ahmed also demystified the difference between your website showing up on the first page in Google vs building an audience through blog posts, podcast and other content that inspires, entertains and educates.
Vanilla, Bland, Middle Of The Road
As you might expect, making horrific vanilla and generic blog content void of your personality is never going to get you very far.
Companies and bloggers like Cat Johnson, Mark W Schafer, Pamela Wilson, Ramsey at Blog Tyrant, Buffer and HubSpot have built and kept their audience because they have fun, deeply inform and of course people WANT to share their stuff – just like we did in this post here.
So avoid terms like “Full-Service Agency/Law Firm/Accountant etc.” or “Best in Class” or “We provide a range of services specific to our client’s needs.”
I’ll stop there…. My blood is already boiling!
More on this is waiting for you in Josh Bernoff’s deliciously scathing blog “Writing Without Bullshit.”
How To Make Over $3 Million From One Blog Post
Our other mate Marcus Sheridan talks about how everyone thinks they are different, but they are not.
The real difference is the trust you can build with other people both on and off-line.
Marcus was interviewed in the New York Times in 2013 here, on how he made over $3 Million from on blog post, titled ‘How Much Does A Fiberglass Pool Cost?’
(Yes there is a little more to it, but you’d be mad not to read the article here)
Trust What Makes You A Real Lover
As people read your blog, they grow to trust you.
And if your content is shit and bland, they won’t trust you.
They won’t hang around enough to finish reading and get to know you, let alone trust you.
I would go a step further and say that when you are connected with your content people will trust you even faster.
And like Stephen Covey teaches us, when trust is high, speed is high, and the cost is low.
