I did work experience with my Dad, so my opinion may be biased! but I would definitely recommend @Work Hubs to work from as it has various supports for small businesses and has great space for any company.
On the first day, I went to a meeting in Hoxton to meet a company, which gave me good experience of a business meeting. In addition, I picked up some general info about IT companies and it showed me that you need to work hard at something for you to succeed. For example, they had been partners with Microsoft since 2004. For the rest of the day, I made teas & coffees in the hub, topped up the famous Jelly Beans/Skittle pots, and met some of the customers to find out what they do.
On the second day, I sorted out the invoices, stocked up the toilet paper and over the whole week I did some research to help @Work Hubs improve their workspace. Plus I learnt how to file the invoices.
On Wednesday, I helped with the usual stuff, plus I helped set up the hub for a 4Networking event and had three 1-2-1 appointments with different people. In addition, I had a 1-2-1 with one of the best authors/motivational speakers, Brad Burton after the event, who is MD of 4Networking.
Thursday, I started to write my blog and I went with Zack, my dad’s business partner, and co-founder of @Work Hubs, to change the less than good Philips laptop projector to an Acer projector, which actually does what it is supposed to.
On Friday, I went to my second 4Networking event at London Bridge and I met and had interviews with three different people. I met Mike Entwistle again, who ran the event.
The first person I met was Sharon Playford and she works for a law firm called Excellolaw, who have a presence in London, Reading, Manchester and Birmingham. Sharon is a very nice person and she deals with commercial law, generally deals with small businesses and due to the fact that they have virtual offices, it means that they can cut down the cost of fees versus other law firms.
Sharon specialises in Commercial Contracts, Intellectual Property, Information Technology, E-Commerce and Data Protection. From what a saw, she knows her stuff, is a reliable person and she works from home, so is a potential customer for @Work Hubs.
So meeting Sharon gave me opportunity to help Dad by mentioning the hub. Thank you very much to Sharon for sitting down with me. I wish her and Excellolaw, the best and I would recommend them from first glance. If you need help with any of the problems above or know anyone who does, then visit their website at http://www.excellolaw.co.uk/
The second person I met was Ian Carpenter, who independently promotes a weight loss challenge that is called Body by Vi challenge and provides alternative healthy shakes. The company has been in the States for 8 years and has helped 1.5 million people lose weight so far. This year in April, it came to the UK and since then 30,000 people have taken the challenge.
The challenge can be taken by anyone and has got a 90 day guarantee or you get your money back. If it couldn’t get any better than that, they have a system in which if you refer three people and they stay on the challenge you get the products free. The products are only available through Ian or any other promoter of Body by Vi challenge.
The challenge is based around a fantastic meal replacement shake called the Vi Shape which is packed full of protein, fibre and vitamins and minerals.

The third and final person I met was David Viniker, who for me as not experienced in these things, he is at a glance not the person you expect to be involved in SEO, just goes to show never judge a book by its’ cover. So anyway, he was a doctor for 40 years, has published many books and in 1999 built a website called ‘To women’s health’ and gave advice on typical women’s health issues. In 2012 he retired.
However, he now runs a business that helps people make their websites to be as high as possible on first page of Google for their given market/niche. That has been going for a year, however, it was being built a few years before that. He offers a ‘no win no fee’ payment service and definitely knows what he is talking about and he even gave a 4sight at Friday morning’s 4Networking event, where I met him. He is a very nice guy and knows his stuff and has over 30 years’ experience in the field, as he has set up 2 websites beforehand. Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at @Work Hubs and I would definitely recommend doing work experience here. I have learnt many different things over the last week and I would urge you to get over to @Work Hubs Euston or their other locations, when they arrive. The coffee is great, the space is very good and is nicely laid out plus the rates are very reasonable.
